Recount text

Recount text is text what tells about happened already happen in the past, such as,writer’s experience, Past populace story, someone’s story, ETC.

The structures of Recount text :

1. Orientation

Orientation tells about who was involved the story, what happened,where the story took place,and when it happened.

2. Events

Events tells the sequenceof events, these are describe in chronological order.

3. Re-orientation

Re-orientation tells about summaries the events.

The characteristics of recount text :

1. Used simple past tense

2. There is adverb of time such as, long time ago,two years ago, last,yesterday, in 1984, ETC.

3. Used temporal conjunction such as, then,after that,before,etc.

Example of recount text :

My basket ball experience

When I was in junior high scool, I really loved basket ball, Every Saturday afternoon I practiced in school field with my team and my coach. They were strong and smart players my coach,Mr Sentana was a kind person. But, while he was coaching us, he was very discipline. He would arounded any one who came late and not obeyed the team’s rules.

With Mr. Sentana, our team won many tournaments in many big cities. Our team named after school, 67 team (SMP 67) and hehad many fans too. Now , I still love basket ball and have a tima too. But, my parents want me to pay attention more to my study, basket ball just for hobby.
